7 reasons why you spend too much time staring at a screen

1. You want to get to the last level.

You’re playing a game and keep telling yourself “just five more minutes”. Too much game time can kill, as proven by a Chinese gamer who died after a week of playing games.

2. Your boss glares at you for leaving your desk.

Tell your boss that by law you’re allowed a break. If you’re busy, demand a laptop so you can go and work somewhere quiet.

3. You’ve not yet bought your copy of Windows Vista.

OK, we’ve said it before, but features such as the search can save you time!

4. You’ve got a billion emails.

You’re inbox is full, most of which are spam. Set your email programs to filter mail to a junk folder.

5. You spend time chatting to friends online.

Change your profile to Busy – you can still read messages, but friends won’t be insulted if you don’t respond immediately.

6. You have access problems

Your internet keeps throwing a wobbler every time you try to download. Switch internet provider by going to www.uswitch.com.

7. Looking at news sites takes ages

Subscribe to web feeds on your favourite sites. Using the RSS feed Gadget in Windows Sidebar, you can get the news delivered to you.
