5 ways to save time with Outlook 2007

There’s lots of ways Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 can save you time. Here’s five ways to save that extra hour a day you always wish you had.
1. Task Master
Not every demand upon your time makes itself known in the form of an email. For that, click the Tasks tab at the lower-left of Outlook. Here, you can simply list everything you need to get done – but that won’t help much.
2. Make a Date
Double-click on an empty line in the main part of Outlook and the New Task window will open. Here you can create a ‘to do’ entry as if it were a meeting in the Outlook calendar. Give it a name and a start and due-by date.
3. On Top of It
The job will appear both in the main Tasks pane and in your Calendar (under the date it’s due on). If you revisit it from either, you can tinker with it – update how close it is to being finished, add notes or reminders or change the deadline.
4. Phone a Friend
You can involve other people in your task. Delegate to a colleague/underling by clicking Assign Task at the top left, then choose an email recipient. They’ll get the details by email and the job will appear in their Outlook 2007 Tasks and Calendar panes.
5. Progress Report
You can send a status report to your boss when you make progress – it’s a button in the Manage Task area of the Microsoft Office Fluent interface. If it’s something you do regularly, clicking Recurrence will have Outlook remind you when it’s due again
