Why does it close when you click view article?

Ditto - Why does the gadget close when you click view article?
28/09/08 | 02:18
Is the whole gadget closing or just the flyout? Either way, you might be able to get around it by going to Settings -> Options -> Feed -> Check "go Straight To Article", that should open the article up directly in either the fyout or browser instead of stepping through the summary.

Just down loaded the new sidebar gadget, but every time I use it,it takes me to a web page called (study hard, work faster, have fun)can anyone help or advise.
03/10/08 | 07:15

Hi Phil. It sounds like the gadget is getting confused with the pop-up advert on the web site. To get around this, either try clicking on the article again, with the study hard etc. web page still in the background, or change the options for the gadget to open the article in your default browser. To do this, go to the options (as described in the article above) and then click on the Options tab. Select Show Results In: Browser and then click OK. Hope this helps.

Desn't work properly for me! Each time I try to view an article, I get this error:

Do you want to debug this webpage?
This webpage contains errors that might prevent it from displaying properly or working correctly. If you are not testing this webpage, click No.

Line: 224
Error: Object doesn't support this property or method

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times but always get the same problem.

This is due to domain change of the website, so the link is not correctly locked onto the feed from 'officialwindowsmagazine' but the now non existant 'windowsvistamagazine'
Maybe they will bring out a new gadget with the new name rather than the old version, or there might just be an update for the existing version.!?

The gadget is broken since June. They know about it, has to do with domain change. They should stop providing the download until it is fixed. In the meantime they are driving people crazy that don't realize that it can't work at all causing them to waste time figuring out it isn't their computer. They should put a notice in place of the download until it is fixed. That would be the considerate thing to do.

hansa1 has a very good point, so what is wrong with you guys? This is certainly no way to promote good will among your supporters.
Could you possibly not realize what jerks you are being by NOT informing your supporters about this or are you just embarrassed that you do not have the skills to fix this?
I am really F%(*$#@ tired of reinstalling your gadget every now and then and clicking on the RETRY button over and over again. Why does it say RETRY?? Just to piss me off even more?

FIX YOUR DAMN GADGET!!!!!

I'm not impressed that you still have a link to a sidebar gadget that doesn't work anymore. Will there be an update with new link?
04/09/09 | 07:27

The gadget is now working, use the download link in the article and it will take you to the updated page.
17/09/09 | 09:54

Sorry about the delay on this, but the gadget is up and running now, you can use the download link above to re-download the new copy or check our blog for the details of what was updated: http://www.buildagadget.com/Blog/archives/406
